THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTIMONIALS….
In deciding which restaurant or movie to go to, hotel to book, hill to hike, kayak to buy, recipe to cook and a squillion other daily decisions testimonials and reviews are for most of us an essential way to hone down our choices.
As you can no doubt imagine the process is the same for those trying to decide which PT to use, which club to join or which group fitness class to go to.
Customer testimonials have the highest effectiveness rating for all types of content marketing, with a rating of 89%! It’s a no brainer, whether you’ve been in this game forever or a total newbie, testimonials about you and your business are gold.
Testimonials allow people to quickly build trust in you and your business in a way that nothing else can. Accordingly having none can be almost as bad as having only negative ones!
WHAT FORM SHOULD A TESTIMONIAL TAKE?
Testimonials can take many forms. They can for example, be:
1) written statements,
2) before and after pictures,
3) stories and videos,
4) even the results of surveys and polls.
To appeal to a wider audience a mix of these different mediums is probably worth aiming for.
HOW DO I GET TESTIMONIALS IF I’M A NEWBIE?
Start asking people who you are training and it doesn’t matter if they also happen to be friends and family. Ask one person a week by this time next year you will have a whopping 52 of them.
You could also offer to train people for free in return for a review that you could use.
Finally, lets not forget you are also you’re own testimonial! Get your stories of success out and about too.
WHERE DO I PUT THEM?
On your business Facebook page and any other social media mediums you use but even more importantly put them somewhere more permanent too like in the ‘about’ section of your Facebook page, on your website, business cards, brochures, posters etc.
